V-day at the Stockyards
So, of course I meant to post these sooner, but C'est la vie!
Garrett gave me some beautiful roses for Valentine's Day!
And I gave him a Razor to ride around his office and downtown Dallas. He LOVES it!
We went to the Fort Worth Stockyards for Valentines day on Saturday and had a blast! We ate some awesome BBQ, tried on cowboy boots, and I even got to sit on a Texas Longhorn. (The animal, not the football player...)
Here are some of the highlights:

Tornadoes!!
Today is one week until my birthday! I know, I’m getting a little too old to be excited about birthdays still, but I can’t help it! This year I’ll be a quarter-century old. That’s just crazy!
This week has been busy at work for both me and Garrett!
Tuesday night I presented the Business Retention Strategic Plan I wrote to the City council. I got a little nervous right before my presentation, but it went really well! I was so proud of myself!
Garrett came to watch the presentation, and so did some of our Board members and community business leaders. I was worried we wouldn’t have a very good turn-out because we were forecasted to have bad weather that evening, but we had a good show. We even got some media coverage for the Today paper and the BSW Citizen!
That night we did get some pretty bad weather. You may have seen all the tornadoes on the news in Oklahoma and North Texas. Luckily, we live in Southern Dallas County, and all the tornado activity was in North Dallas. We just got some heavy rain and wind. Our sirens never even went off! From what people have told me, tornadoes rarely make it down this far South.
Garrett’s been working on a big editing job for a medical company. He had to do the spot in English and Spanish. Garrett’s officially a bi-lingual editor!
Tomorrow is Friday the 13th, so we’re going to go see the new Friday the 13th movie when we get off work, of course! It should be a blast!!

Woven Cable Scarf
Chelsey got me this yarn and pattern for Christmas and I just got it finished over the weekend. I had to devote a whole post to it because it turned out so awesome! It's the Woven Cable Scarf for Moda Dee. I love it!!
(I know you're wondering, and yes - I always take this many pictures of what I knit.)

You've gotta have Faith!
It’s already Thursday! Time flies in Texas!
This past weekend we went to Club Da Da in Downtown Dallas to see Los Campesinos. The name is Spanish for “the peasants” but they are actually from the UK and they are AWESOME!
We had so much fun seeing them. Here’s one of their music videos for Garrett’s favorite song, “Death to Los Campesinos.”
If you live in Panama City, you may remember a story on the news a few years ago about a two-legged dog named Faith that walks upright. I think the dog was on tour, so they did this whole story on the perseverance of this sweet dog that was born with deformities and overcame them. Here’s her story:
Well, that dog lives in DFW! Garrett’s work was hosting an event Tuesday night and when he walked out of his office, he saw a dog walking around on its back legs like a person. He was amazed by her. He said she is one of the coolest, sweetest dogs he’s ever seen. It’s true that everyone can use a little faith!
