Weekend Wrap-Up - Sunday

Sunday, wasn’t quite as exciting for us. We rode the bike around, had breakfast, and watched the Cowboys lose horribly to the Rams. It was so painful I’m not going to say anymore about it.

After the game we went to go see the new Oliver Stone movie, “W.” about George W. Bush. It was pretty good. Garrett really liked it, but I felt like it left out a lot. It only goes up to right before his re-election.

What was really cool, though, was all the little Texas references that we wouldn’t have picked up on if we didn’t live here. For example, all of the Dr. Pepper that W. drinks. Most people would think it was just product placement, but Dr. Pepper is a Texas product, and most people here grow up drinking it.

It was really interesting to watch the portrayal of Colin Powell in the movie, too. Then to get up this morning and hear on the news that he’s endorsing Obama was really wild!
